57th Session of the Human Rights Council Ends with Renewed Commitment to Water and Sanitation

The 57th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council concluded this week, bringing to a close weeks of deliberations on a wide range of pressing global issues, including environmental protection and access to essential services. The Council adopted a resolution, co-sponsored by Spain and Germany, reaffirming the human right to safe drinking water and sanitation. The resolution was adopted by consensus, marking a unified call for action on this critical issue.

The Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations hailed the resolution as a "strong signal" of the international community's commitment to ensuring access to sanitation for all.
