EurEau welcomes the nomination of Swedish politician Jessika Roswall as European Commissioner for the environment, water resilience and circular economy. Prior to this nomination, Ms Roswall served as Minister for European Union Affairs and Minister for Nordic Cooperation in Sweden.

The Commission has long talked about the need for water resilience. If approved by the European Parliament, Ms Roswall will play a key role in ensuring that the Water Resilience Initiative becomes a reality and that water resources are taken into account in a broader context.

We believe that water resilience is a success factor in securing the EU's competitiveness, environment and security.
